This 1914 mansion, with its spacious rooms, tiny alcoves, and third-floor ballroom holds the story of Cle Elum’s first successful banker and former mayor, Frank Carpenter and his family. It’s believed to be a “pattern-book” house similar to those sold through Sears and Roebuck in the late 1800s and early 1900s. It contains the Carpenter family’s original furnishing. High Country Artists, an upper Kittitas County art group, display their art here with a featured artist exhibit on the main floor each month.
